The Mighty Integration with DevSecOps Insights
The 'DevSecOps Insights' capability offers customizable pipeline with the following features:
Key features:- Pipeline configuration through Jenkins
- Commit insights
- Delivery quality insights
- Build traceability
- Release/Sprint health
Workspace Admin can enable this new functionality and allow the users to include a new app named 'DevSecOps Insights' in the workarea.
Steps to configure DevSecOps Insights:
1. Navigate to Domain Setup > DevSecOps Configuration.
2. After successful integration, you (Domain Admin) can work with the Support/Deployment team to finish the configuration.
3. To add a new module - 'Pipeline and DevSecOps Insights' navigate to Setup > Way of Working and follow the guided steps.
4. To enable a holistic dashboards view and to access the pipelines from the configuration screen, you can choose a separate configuration along with access control.
5. Single sign on is enabled for the users to log in to 'DevSecOps Insights' and access the screens as per their access rights.
Note:- This feature is available only on select editions (Standard & Ultimate).
- This feature includes deployment of on-premises components necessary to set up CI/CD pipelines and repository. Engaging deployment support for configuration of the complete setup is necessary.
- The existing 'CI/CD pipeline' feature (renamed to 'Inbuilt CI/CD Environment') is being planned to be deprecated in the upcoming release. Any further enhancement to DevOps functionality will be done within 'DevSecOps Insights' feature.
One Traditional Portfolio View for All
- A common Portfolio can be created for Programs/Projects that follow the Waterfall model.
Programs/Projects following the Agile Way of Working will have separate Portfolios.

You can quickly navigate through various functions, with up to six customizable icons right on the home page.
Each icon can be linked to a URL, providing direct access to frequently used functions. -
Personalized icons that suit your requirements
Users and admins can personalize the navigation icons that suit their preferences as well as specific workflows.
Admins can set a default configuration for all users by using the 'ADMIN DEFAULT' option. -
Central icon management system
A central management page is included to allow admins or authorized users, to ensure uniformity across all user homepages.
Individual users can edit and select their unique set of six icons on the home page, subject to permissions set by the admin. -
Enhanced icon selection and editability
Icons and titles can be selected and edited based on the associated work area and availability of functions in the left pane.
Users can select up to six icons only for the functions available in the left pane. -
Advanced left pane customization
Edit: Enables users to select functions available in the left pane. Icons that are not available in the left pane are disabled.
Save: Saves the selected icon configuration. Close: Reverts to the previous icon set. Admin Default: Resets the home page to the default icons selected by the admin.
Direct linking of Features and Stories to On-demand Releases
Plan and track your application/ Product roadmaps better by linking features and their user stories to on-demand releases. This capability allows users to directly link Features to a Release. Features and Stories linked to a Release are displayed in their respective tabs. Stand-alone Stories can be linked directly to a Release, whereas for Stories that belong to a Feature, the Feature must be linked to the Release.
Seamless collaboration now possible between testing teams
Allow Teams within a workarea to collaborate with each other for Test Design and ExecutionTeams within a workarea have an option to work independently or collaborate with other Teams, to design and execute test cases. The workspace admin can configure this feature as per the requirement.

Wiki

Reports and Dashboards
Reports and Dashboards functionality is now available with various default reports and dashboards for each module and custom reports can be configured.

1. Wiki for Backlog Management
The issue with Wiki documents not being available in Backlog Management is fixed. Notes feature is disabled. Existing linked notes will still be available; Creation of new notes will not be possible, henceforth.
2. Data Synchronization across entities
The issue with synchronization of data related to Date format, Time zone, Terminology (in Program Increment and Iteration terminology in reports and dashboard), Holiday grid in Backlog management and Test management has been fixed.

In Backlog Management Screen, the issue related to converting an Iteration Defect to Story is fixed. It can be done by clicking the 'Defect to Story' option.
5. DIY Reports
The availability of DIY Reports- Do It Yourself Reports has been addressed. Custom Reports can be created from the Analytics Function - 'DIY Reports'.
6. Tests under Constraints
The problem in setting up Test Cases under Constraints has now been fixed.
7. Story Type - Custom Fields
The story type based custom field is now made available in the custom field configuration.
8. Planned and Consumed Hours
In the Sprint Progress screen, the issues with calculation of the planned and consumed efforts are now fixed. Planned effort and Consumed effort is now calculated as "Sum of all task estimates, task estimated from stories, testing tasks planned in the test suite and standalone tasks planned in that sprint for each team".

Highlights:
Standalone Tasks
During an iteration, a team will be focused on the stories it has committed to. Every task should ideally push one or the other story towards completion. However, certain circumstances may require the team to work on some tasks, which are not linked to any of their committed stories. Such standalone tasks can now be made visible in the team's task board. During retrospectives, the team can now measure and act based on the trend of these standalone tasks.
Role-based Email Notification
Current email notification in Jile considers each of the recipients from the perspective of how the recipient is related to the entity involved. For example, Admin can configure to send notification to the owner of the entity, to the creator of the entity, to all the members of the team, or to all the key members of the work area, who own the entity. Now, Admin can mark the specific work area, and team roles such as PO, PM, Scrum Master and others to be used as notification recipients.
Ability to Modify or Remove Last Worklog
Jile now enables the users to modify or delete their latest logged effort against any incomplete task they own.
Enhanced Board View for Status Filter
When a filter is applied in the Board view, only the status fields that are required can be expanded, and the remaining fields can be collapsed. Also, the record count is provided per status field.
Other Enhancements
- Menu items in Jile are now called as Functions instead of Apps.
- Admins have better control over PI, Iteration, and On-demand Release items with role-based access configuration.
- Users can view attachments (of supported types) in the browser itself, without downloading.
- Control Regression Testing for a Release by tagging Test Suites to Release.

Highlights:
Convert a feature to a story and a story to a feature
Have you ever created a feature in Jile and soon realized that it is small enough to be treated as a story? The new action "Convert to story" comes as a handy way to quickly achieve that goal. You get a story creation screen with title, description and acceptance criteria pre-populated from the feature. "Convert to feature" does exactly the reverse - creates a feature from a story if you soon realize it to be a big item. As this need is commonly felt at the grooming phase (i.e., before committing the item in a planning window, like release or iteration) these new actions are available only when the feature/story is in a pre-ready state.
Task and Issue effort metric enhancement
The Planned Effort field in Task or Issue has been renamed as "Original Planned Effort". It will not accept alteration after the first worklog is added. Protection of the original planned effort will help in analyzing time estimation accuracy during inspect and adapt.
Total Effort field has been renamed as "Revised Planned Effort" because it still has a predictive component which may be little more accurate due to any change in the remaining effort.
New analytics related to On Demand Release metrics

Enhanced usability of entity tabs
Apart from their own attributes, all entity (Feature, Story, Defect etc.) have a dedicated section at the bottom of the details page which shows related entities (child stories of feature, tasks of the story and so on), attachments and discussion as separate tabs. Each tab now contains an indication of the number of items in it.
Other Updates:
- To bring completeness, Release Achievement (or Iteration Achievement) page now takes story points pertaining to test suites also into consideration.
- Linkage to Issue maintained while converting Issue into Story.

On Demand Release
Do you want to keep developing on cadence and release when business is ready to consume? New capability of 'On Demand Release' lets you achieve that. Create an 'On Demand Release' with target date as per business commitment. Link stories that would be part of that release. Track progress and readiness through 'On Demand Release Dashboard'. This new capability detaches cadences like Sprint/Iteration and Program Increment from Release so that all these options open up for you: Release multiple times during a Sprint, Release once a Sprint, Release multiple times during a Program Increment, Release work from multiple Sprints in one go and so on.
To make this new app available on the left menu, please click on Workspace setup, select Way of Working, and check the On-demand Release box under Planning.
Information Icon(Optional) for the custom fields
Have you added custom fields and wished that you could provide additional information to users? Now you can specify Text that would be visible to user via information icon on the respective Custom field.

Report Enhancements - Global reports
A new type of report has been introduced as 'Global' report. Reports created under 'Global' section in any work area will be made available across all work areas. In a similar way, reports created under 'Global' tab from any team will be made available across all teams.
Note: The report type 'public' is rephrased as 'local' which will continue to be visible at work area level.
Report Enhancements - Clone reports
Jile now supports 'Clone Report' option that allow users to make a copy of any existing report. The cloned report will be made available in the private tab in the reports and the user can customize and publish as needed.
Iteration Achievement Summary View
Jile's 'Iteration Achievement' app has been enhanced to include a rolled-up Summary View of the Iteration Achievement Percentage for all closed iterations. At the Portfolio level, this Summary View will help gain insights into the performance of various products under the portfolio. While at the Program level, it will help assess and compare the performance of the respective teams, over a period.
Manage Default Apps
A new option 'Manage Default Apps' is introduced in workspace setup. With this, Jile workspace administrator has an option to setup default apps for all the work areas that are created in a workspace based on the work area type. There is also an additional option to apply the default apps to all existing work areas. Additionally, the default apps for 'Scrum' and 'Kanban' team type is also available.

Enhanced Add Functionality
With Jile's enhanced Add functionality, users can capture all details of an entity, including custom fields and attachments, at the time of creation.
This feature has been enabled for the following entities in all major apps:

Note: The existing 'Quick Add' feature is available as a secondary option under the Flash button.
Test Management Reports
The 'Test Management Reports' app has been enhanced to include the following two new reports:
- Backlog - Testing Summary Report
- Backlog - Test Traceability Report
These reports provide complete traceability of the Backlog items planned in a release, the Test Cases, and testing progress, along with count and details of issues.
Release Achievement - Summary View
Jile's 'Release Achievement' app has been enhanced to include a rolled-up Summary View of the Release Achievement Percentage for all closed releases.
At the Portfolio level, this Summary View will help gain insights into the performance of various products under it, while at the Program level, it will help assess and compare the performance of the respective teams, over a period of time.

Improved Test Execution Flow using Grid View
A new Menu - 'Run in Grid View' has been introduced along with the existing 'New Run' option. This will enable Testers to view all the steps of a Test Case in a Single Grid View and execute them without having to navigate to each step, one by one.

Automatic capture of Run Description:
While executing a Test Case, Testers will no longer be prompted to enter the Run Description every time. The Run Id will automatically be captured as the Run Description, and users can modify the description (if needed) after the execution is complete. - The existing 'Run Test' option's User Interface (UI) has been updated to avoid scrolling, to access the actual results and status.
Team Utilization Report
The 'Team Utilization Report' app has been implemented at the work area level. This app helps to view the utilization of team members across Iterations, from all the child work areas.
Dashboard and Report Enhancement
In the Jile Dashboards, the built-in tiles have been enhanced with custom tables. This feature enhances the Dashboard experience by helping the user to create custom Charts and Tables in the same view.
Other Report Enhancements:
- Jile has been updated to support 'Tags' custom report filters
- 'Team' is now available as a base entity to view all teams and members in one report
- In custom reports, Jile now supports additional report fields including Objectives and Key Results (OKR), Iteration Goal, and Code commit

- All Kanban boards have been updated to display the count of cards in each column along with WIP limit details
- 'Move To' option has been added to cards to directly replan the stories in a standalone Iteration to a subsequent Iteration

My Work - Enhancements
Jile's ' My Work Dashboard' is enhanced with the following features to give rich user experience and effectively perform the daily activities.

My Work Dashboard
Jile provides 'My Work Dashboard' - a single screen to start the day and plan on what to be done. This dashboard provides a holistic view to track all the work that is assigned to the user, be it for backlog grooming or artifacts that are owned in the ongoing releases / iterations. This view pulls data across all work areas and teams that the user is tagged to so that the user do not have to navigate to multiple levels to see the worklist.
Issue Ageing Metrics
Jile introduces a new App 'Issue Ageing Details' to provides complete ageing metrics for Issues. This report will provide details on time spent by an issue in each status, the count of the issue in each status with a complete status transition details, including the resolution details for the issue.
Clone Workspace
Jile provides 'Clone Workspace' option to the admins on creation of a new workspace. This 'Copy from Workspace' will clone the basic configuration of the chosen workspace which includes the workspace setup configuration.
Custom chart in Dashboard
In Jile Dashboard, the data visualization, through the pre-defined built-in tiles is now enhanced with the custom charts in dashboard. With this feature, the user can define custom charts that will enrich the experience in dashboard.

Highlights:
Global Search
Jile now provides option to search across different artifacts and takes you to the artifact details directly. The search will happen across ID, and title from Capability, Initiative, Feature, Story, Defect, Test, Task, Issue, Work Item, Test Suite and lists the matching results. It also allows you filter the search limited to a specific artifact type.
Ranking for Features and Stories
Jile has new Improved Grid views for all Backlog Apps with bulk ranking options to move backlog items to top, bottom or specific position with ease. This gives ability to the users to sort by the key fields (Business Value, Estimate etc.) and update ranks for features based on the sorted order. This rank / order changes are been synchronized across all views (Card / Grid / Board Views). More details on the ranking for features and stories can be found here.
Access control for team entities
Jile now provides Access Control for team level entities using a rule configuration. This will enable workspace administrators to configure a rule that will control access of one team assigning/modifying/deleting entities of other teams. Using this, Team level entities like stories, tasks, tests, impediments, issues can be created/updated/deleted only by the key members or by the respective team member in their work area.
Analytics-Reports
Jile brings enhanced Reports with more flexibility in managing tables and charts. With this enhancement all the defined custom tables and charts come under a single umbrella. The reports can be defined as private or public based on its accessibility. Managing public reports is handled by workspace admin whereas the private reports are managed individually. It also includes pin/unpin of any report to the menu.
Analytics-Dashboard
In Jile Dashboard, the data visualization gives a clear view of the analytics, through the predefined metrics called tiles. Though, a beta version with a limited tile it is still managed by the workspace admin on the public view and the pin/unpin of the dashboards to the menu.
Budgets
Jile provides the ability for the Portfolio managers to capture the budget and track the expenditure by Initiatives or Programs. Every work performed for a particular initiative can be tracked and compared against the allocated budget. This would help the Portfolio Manager to understand if the work delivered is within the budget or not.

Jile now provides options for Domain Admins to configure access control for user management. This will help the administrators to effectively control who can onboard new users or remove users from Jile.

Integration with GitLab
Jile now provides integration with GitLab which will enable users to configure GitLab projects and link work areas. Through this feature, every commit can be tagged and shown against the corresponding user story or issue in Jile to ensure traceability.

Reports Using Charts Designer
This release provides an enhanced report designer that helps teams define custom charts. These charts can be saved and are accessible from the menu system. Users can quickly create a chart by selecting pre-defined chart type with plot against specific values related to the entity chosen. The preview gives the visualization of the charts.
Checklist for Definition of Ready and Definition of Done
When creating or grooming a feature or story, teams can define the Definition of Ready and Definition of Done in form of a checklist. It helps to define clear criteria for the feature or story to be ready for implementation or to be considered done.

Report Template
Users can quickly create a report by selecting pre-defined templates given for the entity. After selecting the template, the default columns will be loaded and users can modify them. This will reduce a lot of time spent on creating standard reports.
Traceability between Issues and Test Case
When identifying issues in sprint testing, the tester can also link the test cases that will be impacted because of this issue. This will help the testing team to better plan their testing activity. Once the issue is resolved, the testing team can also use this traceability to verify the related test cases.

Feature Clone
Users will be able to create a replica of a feature with clone option. With clone option, a feature can be replicated along with its associated user stories, tasks and tests. Clone option will be available in all the feature apps.
Multi Select Custom Fields
In custom field definition, we are now supporting a new type - 'Multi Select'. This is enabled in Features and Stories entity. We will continue to provide this option to all other entities in future releases.
Converting Issues to User Story
You can convert any issues created during an iteration into a user story. This can help users plan their issue implementation in the next iteration.
Feature Tests Import
Import option is available for uploading feature tests. This will help users in defining their test cases. Test execution will happen by creating test suites and executing them in iteration. Email Notifications
For a given workspace, you can trigger email notifications for events related to various Jile entities and send it to the selected recipients. A workspace admin will be able to manage these notifications from the workspace setup.
Data Clone
Users will be able to clone user stories, tasks, tests and issues. Clone option will be available in all the apps for these entities. Through this feature, users can quickly replicate their existing data and create a new one.
Status update restrictions based on User Role
Workspace admin can configure a specific role that will have the permission to change the status of the Initiatives. This will help the teams follow a more restrictive process to move Initiatives across various statuses.

Test Design
Multi-Step tests can be created for both features and stories. Tests have a wizard to help users navigate back and forth to create and edit steps, making the test case creation quick and easy.
Test cards will have an icon to indicate a 'Multi-Step' test case.
Test Planning
While planning the features into a release, feature test suites get created along with all the tests associated with the feature. Feature test suites can be estimated and planned into iterations based on capacity.
In addition, regression test suites can also be estimated and planned into iterations.
Test Execution
Execution will also store the run history. We can easily execute all the tests using the 'Play icon' on the Test Board.
Regression Library
We can easily import tests from the Features or Stories into Regression Test Suite using the 'Import Tests'.

Plug-in to API Fortress
API Fortress is a Continuous Testing platform for APIs and Web Services [https://apifortress.com/]. We now have a plug-in for this tool, so that the tests in API Fortress can be triggered as part of a CI/CD pipeline execution in Jile.
Capability Split
If a Capability planned into a Release, cannot be completed in full, it can be split so that the remaining features can be moved and managed into the newly split Capability.

- The dates when an Initiative, Feature, Capability or Story is moved to 'Ready' status or 'Done' status, is stored as the 'Ready Date' and 'Done Date' respectively, and displayed in the single page view.

- Workspace Templates- While creating a workspace, any desired 'Template' can be selected. A 'Template' pre-populates a set of hierarchical 'Work Area Types', defining a 'Structure' supported in the Workspace.
- Work Area navigator now displays the organizational structure with the Work Area types.
- You can now break down large initiatives into smaller 'Sub-Initiatives'.

Detailed Synchronized Planning for Kanban Teams
The detailed planning screen for a Release, which is used in the big

Component Versioning
You can mention the versions of the components being moved as part of a
Release Schedule and tag the respective features and defects to this
version.

GitHub Code Commits traceability to Stories
GitHub Code commits against stories will now show the list of modified files with a direct link to the change history in GitHub. [ In a domain with GitHub Integration configured, navigate to Story single page view, go to 'Code Commits' Tab ]

- Product Backlog will only have those features that are not planned in any Releases. Prior to this, features as part of the ongoing releases, along with their statuses were also present in the Product Backlog.
- Role based permission is applicable for moving the Initiatives, Features and Stories to the 'Done' or the baseline state.
- Reports Module is enhanced such that Tables and Charts can include 'Custom Fields'.
- GitHub code commits against stories will now show the list of modified files with a direct link to the change history in GitHub.
- The notion of 'Kanban support team', which was present to support the Production support scenario, will be discontinued. Teams could be either of type 'Scrum' or 'Kanban' that represent cross-functional agile teams, delivering software incrementally.
- For Domain Administrators, under the Usage Analytics, you can download the list of Active or Inactive users in your domain.

Kanban for Development Teams
An Agile team that is part of a large product of 'Team of Teams' can
choose to follow a
Kanban methodology. The team works on a continuous flow of Features and
Stories
within a common release scope that is shared by many agile teams.

Work board of Kanban Development Teams
Kanban teams will have a board to view the flow of Features and Stories. They can associate a Standard, Urgent or Fixed Date priority to stories, track their cycle time and through-put. The teams can also manage their 'Work in Process (WIP)' limits and pull work based on these limits. [Navigate to Team Level of a Kanban Team and click on 'WORK']
Integration with Git Hub
The out-of-box integration with Git Hub will now enable users to install the Jile GitHub app, and connect the GitHub repository to a Jile Workspace. Once the connection is established, developers can tag a user story and its status to a commit. Hence, every commit will be tagged and shown against the user story in Jile.
Notifications for Feature and Story Owners
When owners are assigned to features and stories, the respective owners are notified in the 'Notifications' section.
License consumption and Usage Tracking
Domain administrators can track the license consumption and adoption by users on-boarded. The trend of adoption can be visualized on a line graph.

- Introducing 'Status - Backlog | Sub-Status - Ready' as default status for Features and Stories. All the created features and stories will have the Status as 'Backlog' and Sub-status as 'Ready' by default, until they are planned into a Release or an Iteration respectively. Once these features or stories are planned into a release or iteration, the status gets updated to 'To Do'.
- Move to 'Next Release' option for Feature cards in 'Release Backlog', such that any feature can be moved to the Next Release or the Product Backlog.
- Feature, Story and Defect 'Completion Date' is shown in the single page view. This specifies the date on which the entity was moved to 'Done' [the Baseline status]. Users can also update this date through the 'Edit' option.
- In addition to the existing grid view, a visual representation of dependencies of stories in the Story single page view is shown.
- Objectives also have a rank, and users can prioritize the objectives through drag and drop.
- Product and Area 'Delete' Option is now available.
- The Enterprise Administration, through which Domain Administrators define enterprise settings like the enterprise name, tagline, adding workspaces and so on, is moved to a separate area called the 'Enterprise Setup'. It can be accessed from a new 'Setup icon' on the Product Navigator.
- Domain Administrator can configure specific email subdomains, which will be allowed for registration by users. This is to prevent unauthorized email IDs of users in Jile.
- Custom Fields for 'User Entity' is available now.

Team Members can be part of multiple agile teams
While team members have to be dedicated to the agile cross functional 'Feature Teams', it takes substantial time to structure members in that manner. In order to support the transition, Jile will now allow Team Members to be part of multiple teams. Also, team member pages have a new refreshing look.

Discussions on Single Page View
You can easily access and contribute to discussions against an Initiative, Feature, Story or Defect by clicking the 'Discussions' icon on the single page view. You will also now get notified on all discussions you have been tagged in.
Mark Timeframes Complete
Timeframes can be marked as complete, so that all Objectives, Initiatives, and Releases belonging to that timeframe will move to the 'Completed Timeframe' view.
Other Updates:
- Release and Iteration Backlog will show the Scrum Board by default
- Blockers, Issues, Unresolved Dependencies alert will be shown in the Iteration Backlog Scrum Board
- Story cards in Daily Tasks, Tests and Issue board, will show the count of pending Tasks, Tests, Issues, Impediments and Dependencies

Jile 1.0 focused on enabling enterprises experience scaled agile by helping 'Team of Teams' adopt agile ways of working very easily. Many teams have found success in this adoption, with Jile 1.0 playing a major part.
This November, we are excited to bring you the next evolution of Jile, Jile 2.0.
Jile 2.0 will support agile delivery for really large teams through a newly introduced 'Large Product Workspace'. We have taken guidance from the 'Large Solution Layer' of Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprises [SAFe] and 'LeSS Huge' Framework of Large Scale Scrum [LeSS], which are the two very popular agile scaling frameworks.
A Large Product comprises of sub-products along various functional areas that the customer sees, uses and values as a whole. Each area or sub-product is managed by a team of Agile Teams. In the 'Large Product Workspace', large product groups can define vision, set goals and plan in a synchronized manner, delivering incremental value across sub-products.

Teams in Jile will now have a separate work area for managing their iterations and daily work. Teams can navigate to their work area from the 'Workspace Navigator' menu on the Header.

You can now add Teams and Team members from a quick access set up menu, next to the workspace navigator menu drop down.
Enriched Guidance
Jile provides guidance on Workspace creation by providing information on
the type and
meaning of workspaces to users. A new 10 step 'Product Tour' is
introduced.
